The Bad Coders Webring

Go back, Go to the webring

Why did I make this page?

Well, a lot has been going on between me and the owner. Since I know him personally, it's easier to reach out. But then I got kicked out without warning or clarification. I'm gonna talk more about that.

I joined in April and I'm writing this in Juli. A little while ago, I suddenly got removed from the Bad Coders Webring, no explanation, no message, nothing. Confused, I reached out to the owner on Discord. He told me I violated rule 4 (- be a decent human being). Naturally, I asked what I did wrong. He replied that an anonymous person reported me and that I violated because I harass because I spammed his site once - which was two months before the webing was even made. I won’t deny that I did spam his site back then. I take full responsibility for that and acknowledge it was wrong. But that happened before the webring, and I had done nothing problematic during my time as a member. I asked again: who reported me, and what exactly did I do that triggered the removal? He refused to name the person or give details, saying it “doesn’t matter” who reported me. I’d argue that it does—especially if I’m being removed based on vague claims. I admit I have been aggressive with our conversation because I wasn't getting a normal and useful answer. I wanted to talk it out, understand what happened, and improve. Instead, I was told there were "many things" but he wouldn’t go through his "screenshot rabbit hole." His only concrete example was the months-old spam incident. It seems that this isn't as important to him as it is for me.
Then, I asked three questions:

I've been ignored for a day and I had to ask them again. His response was: That left me confused. I have stated that getting no real answer to what I did wrong and who the anonymous person is, is making me get suspicious. I said I wanted a clear answer with what I did so I can improve and explain myself. I got suspicious that that person didn't even exist. Then, he admitted that the site spamming was an example, and not even the real reason. I once again asked politely what the actual issue was, who the person is and what behaviour triggered a report. I’ve been clear that the lack of transparency and accountability makes me question whether this anonymous report even exists. If it does, I’d still expect a chance to hear what I supposedly did wrong. I wasn’t given that. Since July 8 2025, he's been ignoring me. I sent another message that his silence is quite suspicious now because he had been online a lot lately. I know he has other servers he's in, and I have, too, but he had replied to a new member of the server we're co-owners in on Discord, but didn't reply to me. I've tagged him once every so often as reminder to answer, but he still ghosts me. I know he could be on vacation, or just busy with other things, but that could also be said before leaving me on read.
If this is how the webring is handled, then I don't believe it's a fair community to be in. I would recommend not joining the Bad Coders Webring.

This was the last reply I recieved before getting ignored.

If you have any problem with me saying this and putting this on my site, email me (diepvries.wasmachine@gmail.com) with who you are, your site so I know you're a real person, and what the issue bothering you is and why it is bothering you. I still have free will to put on my site what I want, but I will look into your appeal.

Sincerely, Izumi
